July10: First symptom was a multiple engine shut down (about 3 times in a row). Every time the engine was attempted to start Forme the GM jts engines were a complete let down. The 2.2 cannot compare to Alfa's twinspark and 3.2 cannot come close to Alfa's Busso. I had the 3.2 159 that didn't last very long before timing chain issues which translated to R55k repairs almost 3 years ago. The 2.2 will set you back about R35k. Some cars would have an interim catchment plate fitted under the scuttle drain point in the engine bay just under the drivers side wiper. If either this plate or the newer scuttle are fine if fitted but not a requirement for the OPs needs. 2006159 2.2JTS Problems Starting. Just before Christmas, my car took several attempts to start. The engine warning light has been on for two years and none of Alfa Iown 2 Alfa Romeo 159 2.2 JTS Selespeed.
